How to Install Small Wind Turbine
Small wind turbines aren’t used extensively within homes, even though the technology is advancing quickly. This is largely due to the limited number of installers (and by proxy customers), and the need for planning permission. Many of these solutions can be easily attached to chimneys or other ancillary high structures around the house. They are very simple pieces of technology that have a turbine connected to a motor. The rotational energy is turned into electricity through the motor and then fed into an inverter that regulates the output of the electricity before feeding it into your home. Having this technology on your home results in energy produced during more windy winter months, whilst there is less sun, making it a perfect solution for a home that is aiming to be off grid. To install such technology you have to do a lot of research. The challenge is finding an appropriate installer, which are few and far between. They are needed to accredit your installation, but that is only needed if you are to sell your energy to the grid. It is possible to do the whole installation by yourself, and with many solutions available online, for little cost, this may be very attractive to someone who is tech savvy.
