Hi. I’m Joss, apparently now a ‘Cool Human’! I’m a property developer up in Shrewsbury. I found this app over the Christmas break when I was feeling worried about the world. I feel quite a lot better now I’m made my NetPositiveLife Plan – check it out here!
I’ve done quite a bit of stuff in my primary house, making it energy efficient. I can easily get some energy efficient appliances, when they need replacing, so I added those for 2029. I’m keen on home technology, and reckon I’ll have some money to invest in my houses in the next two years, so I’ve added all that, including a battery and ground source heating system.
I didn’t like the food options, but do like food that is clean of pesticides, so eat organic primarily. But after I’d done everything in the app I really struggled in getting my impact on nature down. I’m not going to give up meat, but I did succumb to being a ‘flexitarian’ – I guess it will be better for my health and the planet. I also plan to have oat milk instead of dairy next year. I don’t think it will be too bad.
I was surprised about how important the car was until I started looking at the impacts of transport, so this year I’m going to go electric! I do drive quite a lot so this will make a difference. I have always intended to walk more though so I also pledged to do more of that, as well as to take public transport – trains for journeys down to London are definitely easier!
For the money – I really didn’t know how important this is, so I’m going to speak to my financial advisor about moving all my investments out of oil and gas and into renewables technology. I’m also going to look at making some positive investments in the next year – now I’ve learnt about some of those cool platforms.
I’m pleased I’ve managed to create a plan. It does make me feel better but I bet because I’ve got a rental property, I also inherit some impact from that house. I will try and do both though! Very welcome to feel that I am on the right side of history though. Definitely telling my friends to do this as well – it’s not that hard.
